History

Founded in 2015 by a Noblesville High School student, Underdog started as a school project. After its premier year, Underdog became independent of Noblesville High School and filed as a non-profit organization, titled Underdog Theatre Inc.. Underdog Theatre Inc. was then dissolved in 2019. Currently, Underdog operates under Underdog Theatre LLC.

Underdog was founded on the idea of giving students a chance. Because of that founding idea, Underdog strives to be a safe and welcoming environment that not only encourages students to grow, but also provides opportunities that they might not find elsewhere. Key ideas that are considered when casting are giving inexperienced actors a chance at roles and giving more experienced actors the chance to break their type-cast, allowing them to perform roles different than what they're use to.

Since its formation, Underdog has passed down its directorship, giving students the chance to direct and produce their own shows. To see Underdog's previous directors, see Alumni below.
